i-Science is a series of Science textbooks with accompanying workbooks. It is written in compliance with the Science syllabus set by the Ministry of Education. The textbook allows pupils to learn Science based on themes that they can relate to in their everyday experiences and to commonly observed phenomena in nature. Explanations of science concepts are written in ways to make them interesting and easy to understand. Examples that involve daily life situations are carefully chosen so that pupils can relate to them easily.
A conscious effort has made to encourage pupils to develop habits of mind and attitudes necessary for scientific enquiry through the use of questions throughout the text. These prompt the pupils to think and process thud information provided in the text, so as to make useful application of it. The workbooks are designed to equip pupils with scientific knowledge and a set of skills which they can use in more complex processes. The activities provided in each workbook are closely linked to the respective sections in the textbook to facilitate teaching and learning.
