Earth is divided into five main sections. The first section, PLANET EARTH, is an introduction to the Earth as a whole. The next three sections are about the planet's main environments--the LAND, OCEAN, and ATMOSPHERE. Within these sections, the Earth's features are divided into categories, such as Rivers and Lakes. Introductory pages describe typical features found in each category and explain how they are formed. On the succeeding pages, major features in that category are profiled individually. Thematic panels appear throughout. The last section, TECTONIC EARTH, is a three-dimensional atlas.
