People keep bees for a variety of reasons. Probably foremost of these is the desire for a supply of honey. But even if they are kept for some other reason-polination, for instance-a supply of honey inevitably results. Perhaps this doesn't happen in the first year or two, and perhaps it doesn't happen every year, but at some point it almost certainly occurs. A bumper crop comes along, a surplus of honey is on hand, and the means must be found to move it to market.

This may may not be a problem, especially when only one or two hives are involved, but beekeeping being what it is, hive numbers often creep up, and the supply of surplus honey with it. After a while, marketing possibilities are saturated-relatives, friends, co-workers all have as much as they need or want. What next? Selling usually comes to mind. Then the obvious questions arise-where, when, how, for how much? Here we attempt to answer at least some of these questions. If any questions are not answered directly, you will at least find yourself thinking in the right direction.
This booklet is aimed primarily at those beekeepers with only a few hives, and consequently, with a relatively small amount of honey-perhaps a few hundred pounds rather than one or two thousand-but even large producers will find some new ideas here.
