Language learning can be seen as an ever-developing woven with many threads and colors. The elements of the tapestry are related to different language skills such as listening and speaking, reading, and writing the characteristics of the teachers; the desires, needs, and backgrounds of the students; and the general second language development process. When all of these elements are working together harmoniously, the result is a colorful, continuously growin gtapestry of language competence of which the student and the teacher can be pround.
Tapestry is built upon a framework of concepts that helps students become proficient in English and prepared for the academic and social challenges in colleges and beyond. The following principles underlie the instruction provided in all of the components of the Tapestry program:
