Photoshop Elements Solutions was the first book to prove you could publish successfully on Elements, at a time when most image-editing pros looked down their nose at "Photoshop Lite". Sales of Photoshop Elements 2 Solutions topped the first book, as readers and reviewers praised Mikkel's straightforward, professional style and the high-quality photos he used throughout (many of them contributed by pro photographers).
Photoshop Elements 3 Solutions slipped a bit because of a tremendous increase in competition. Scott Kelby's books (The Photoshop Elements Book for Digital Photographers and Photoshop Elements Down & Dirty Tricks) benefit from his huge magazine and trade-show presence. Despite Kelby's and Adobe Press's marketing advantages, PE3S still sold enough to make it a top Sybex title.
We're ready to put Mikkel back on top by any standard. We believe his tone is still preferred by most readers, and we've revised the order of presentation to catch up with today's digital-photography reader. We've trimmed low-impact topics and moved the supporting files to downloads to help differentiate our book in size and price.
