The year-to-year growth in notebooks for the fourth quarter showed iBook sales grew 66 percent, and PowerBooks increased 20 percent from Q4 2003. Apple also recently announced its new "mini-stores" that will begin appearing in malls around the country.
The stores are notable in that they will carry only Apple's portables and the new iMac G5—not the eMac or Power Macintosh—according to recent news stories. The focus for Apple these days is on its slickest systems—and, aside from the new iMac G5, those system are all portables.
