This textbook is an innovative introduction to automatic control. It assumes that students have had one calculus course and have basic knowledge about differentiation and integration. Automatic control has many facets and there are many pieces to the automatic control "puzzle." The design of an "automatic controller" is only one of these components. In this book we focus on the basic principle of feedback and show how it is used to design automatic controllers. Our apporach is model based because our first priority is to develop and explicit model for the system under sutdy.
