This introductory textbook for undergraduate engineering students outlines the basic concepts in structural steel design, and discusses tension meters, compression members, beams, mean-columns, simple connections, eccentric connections, composite connections, and plate girders. Appendices cover plastic analysis and design, and structural steel design based on allowable stress. Black-and-white diagrams are prominently featured throughout.
