The purpose of this book is to update the standard text on chemical kinetics and to provide an overiew of the kinetics concepts and examples since 1960. Although I have maintained a traditional introduction to kinetics via rate equations and mechanisms, the material is presented with a fresh perspective. For example, we can now predict mechanisms of many reactions, and, thus, obtain an a priore rete equation. With the advent of computers and graphing programs, it is no longer necessary to utilize complex methods to fit data to appropriate rate equations. Let the computer do this portion of the work!
