This book aims to summarize research into the buckling and postbuckling reaponse of laminated plates which are made of long-fibre reinforced plastics, like CFRP and GFRP. It reviews the theoretical, numberical and exerimental devolpments that have taken place over the past twenty-five years in the field of laminated plate buckling response.
The book is divded into four parts. Part One covers the underlying plate buckling theory. Part Two covers three major numerical techniques (Series/Ritz, Finite Elemnet and Finite Strip) and their aplication to laminated plate buckling analysis. Part Three describes a variety of important 'complicating effects', such as shear deformation and delaminations, and their infulence on buckling response and Part Four focuses on experimental studies of the buckling of panels in compression.
Individual chapters are written by leading experts in the field and will serve as an important refercne source for future research developments in laminaed plate buckling resopnse.
