The third edition of Literature Across Cultures incorporates the many excellent cliques and suggestions of our reviewers and also of our colleagues at Queens brought Community College. We have again added two essays to each chapter; expanded both the appendix introducing the elements of fiction, poetry, and drama and the glossary of literary and cultural term; and revised and update the appendix on researching literary source to include specific guidelines on computer-based research and the use of the Internet for literary research.
In response to instructor's increasing interest using film and videos as cat analysts for class discussion, our colleague Tony Pipolo has revised and updated Appendix E,"A Little about the History of Film and Video,” in the student text as well as the film graphite in the instructor's manual. He has also revised the section on films of Hamlet and added a new section on film of Othello. Several of the new readings will be available on video from the publisher.
