Quest: Listening and Speaking in the Academic World, Books 1-3
The three Listening and Speaking books contain listening, speaking and academic strategies and practice activities based on recordings of everday conversations, radio programs, and college lectures. Additional features include:
- a consistent 5-part chapter structure that buids in difficulty and blends listening and speaking skills within the context of a particular academic area;
- listening and speaking strategy boxes to better prepare students for academic life outside of the ESOL classroom;
- a section of each chapter devoted to the mechanics of listening and speaking: intonation, stress, pronunciation, and language functions;
- an authentic academic lecture, note-taking practice, and a chapter-culminating speaking astivity to complete the academic focus of each chapter.
