This course is concerned with developing the student's abilit to deal with the concepts used in scientific discussion and writing in English. It teacher the language required for performing such tasks as describing, hypothesizing, speculating, accounting for results, and summarzing, which are necessary for any kind of scientific enquiry. These language operations are built up over the 11 units of the course so that the student proceeds from simple tasks, such as expressing values and formulae in English, to the decription of complete experiments, explanations and accounts of processes.
